The academic year in Britain is divided into three terms.

It begins with the Autumn term starting in the first week of September and lasting until mid-December. A one-week, half term break usually falls during the third or fourth week of October.

Spring term begins in the New Year after a two-week holiday and finishes at Easter with a half-term break in late February.

Summer term starts after Easter with a half-term break in May. The academic year finishes around the third week of July.
