Classroom community
Sports and Social Club
Classroom Limited are a small company with big aspiration. We regularly meet to share ideas, enjoy social events in London and to compete or enjoy big and small sporting challenges.
We aim to support local, national and international children’s charities who’s vision are to support the development, education and health of children throughout the world. We will be regularly spotlighting those charities we are supporting. Starting with one which is close to our hearts as it has been created by one of our very own Teachers – Lottie Reeves.
Profile on Global Handprints…
Global Handprints’ mission is to inspire people to recognise their potential, empower them to achieve it and to evolve locally established projects and services to meet the needs of their communities.
We provide support for various projects in developing countries through the recruitment of volunteers and raising funds. Our philosophy strives on the principal that likeminded individuals should have the opportunity to embark on an affordable life-changing experience that not only enriches their life, but also the lives of others. Global Handprints believes projects should benefit from a wide range of skills and interests that are bought and shared by volunteers. We feel strongly that those who donate their time and/or money should have ownership over their contribution therefore enabling them to choose how it is spent.
And our second chosen Charity is Haven House Children’s Hospice.
Haven House Children’s Hospice is a special place for special children. We care for children and young people between the ages of 0 to 19 who have life-limiting conditions and who are unlikely to reach adulthood. We help families by providing a range of services that include day, short break and end of life care, together with therapeutic play in the community. Families can find the support they need when they need it most at no cost to themselves. Haven House Children’s Hospice is a charity looking after children and their families in Central and North East London and West Essex.
Charity Connections
Supporting local, national and international charities is a part of the culture of the Classroom business and an important part of our team’s day to day lives. We firmly believe that it’s important to ‘give a little back’ to support those who are in a challenging position. Where possible, we will support our School Charities, whether physically or through fundraising.
Our latest venture – Santa Run in Greenwich Park. Supporting local charities by dressing as Santa and running 5 or 10k as a team. We’ll keep you posted of our progress on 4th December.
Priority Payroll Solutions
How to instantly increase your take-home pay by working with Classroom…
Classroom Limited and Priority Payroll Solutions Limited work in partnership to provide you with an easy way to maximise your weekly pay.
How does it work?
PPS pay contract workers, supply teachers and nursery workers every week as an ‘Umbrella Company’. This allows workers who are based temporarily at a site to offset legitimate work-related expenses against their income.
They provide the same statutory entitlements as the PAYE (Pay as you Earn) process which is the standard system in the UK for taxation of employees. The primary difference is that you are able to offset work-related expenses against your income giving you the opportunity to increase your take-home pay.
Offsetting means that your expenses are treated as tax and NI (National Insurance) free amounts. They are excluded from your income amount which is subject to tax and NI.
How much will I benefit?
Depending on your salary and the likely expenses you might incur, you could increase your income anywhere from £9.53 per week to £108.27 per week.
If you work all 39 weeks of the teaching calendar, you could be taking home an additional amount of between £371.67 to £4222.53 per annum!
So – where’s the catch?
There isn’t one! A small administration fee is charge for using the service (4.5% of your earnings up to £21.00 per week). Even after the fee is deducted the benefits still apply and Classroom Teachers GUARANTEE you will take home more money than the traditional PAYE method directly through the recruitment agency.
What type of expenses can I claim?
Some of the typical expenses which can be claimed are Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, and Mileage and if you use your home as an office base, you can claim for some heat, lighting, telephone and broadband costs. In addition, and with the inclusion of a receipt, you could also submit travel costs, relevant memberships and subscriptions, training or even some books or publications if they are required for the role.
Do I need to complete lots of complicated forms?
There is a simple form to complete as part of your registration with Classroom. A PPS expert will call you to make sure you are clear and happy with the process and help you to complete the forms.
